Chel Art Gallery

Chel Art Gallery is closed until further notice. We are renting our building to a couple whose home was destroyed in the recent Bastrop wildfire.

Chel Art Gallery celebrates the creative spirit of the Smithville community by showcasing selected local and regional artists. We are a cooperative gallery featuring a variety of media including pen and ink, oil, pastels, oil with palette knife, photography, jewelry, metal sculpture, pottery, and pressed flower paintings. We have something for everyone.

Located in Smithville, Texas at 207 Olive Street, we welcome visitors on Fridays from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with special events and holiday hours.

Smithville is off of State Highway 71 approximately 40 miles southeast of Austin. From Hwy 71, take the Highway 95 exit, and go south towards town (turn right if coming from Austin and Bastrop). After passing Brookshire Brothers on your right, you will turn left onto NW 3rd Street (also known as East Loop 230). Proceed through the light at Main Street. Olive Street is one block past Main Street. Turn right onto Olive, and Chel Gallery is almost immediately on your right.
